Hello and welcome to SuperreaL.

Hello and welcome to Superreal. We’re an entertainment company specialising in podcasts, reality TV, and documentaries. The “real” part of our name reflects the fact that we create authentic content. The “super” bit is because we’re super good at it.

Superreal was co-founded by producer Rachel Tuffery and journalist/film-maker Julian Morgans. Their creative partnership first began in the offices of VICE Australia, where Rachel was Head of Production and Julian was Senior Editor. Since then, they’ve joined forces to make addictive, edgy content for TV, podcasts, and all the big streaming platforms. Their underlying creative belief? All content should be immediately enthralling— without being dumb.

Julian Morgans is an ideas man. A familiar face in the Australian media landscape, Julian was Senior Editor of VICE Australasia, and is the creator and host of the Spotify-exclusive podcast Extremes. He’s now steered his focus towards the ideation of his own original, weird, and intensely captivating media.

As Creative Director of Superreal, Julian is the guy who dreams up the big concepts. He is most curious about the human motivations behind events, stories and culture—and it’s this curiosity that drives Superreal’s projects.

Rachel Tuffery

Rachel Tuffery is Superreal’s Company Director and ideas manifester. Her strength is taking seemingly-impossible creative concepts and making them happen. In 2014 she was poached as a producer for The Ellen Show in LA, before working on Channel Ten’s award-winning show The Project. From there she’s been Head of Production at VICE, and APAC Director of Partnerships Operations at Twitch. All of this has equipped Rachel with excellent skills in juggling high-volume creative projects across multiple markets and platforms simultaneously.

Rachel thrives in the space between art and science: her goal is always to find the “why” behind media success stories, and replicate the X factor in future projects. She is a talented project manager and strategist, and there isn’t a curly problem she can’t solve.
